Ellen searches worldwide for the finest ethically sourced silks and laces. Satins, chiffons, organzas and peau de soie silks, chantilly, Alencon, and guipure laces are selected for their refined hand and exquisite colors. Hand-crafted embellishments such as delicate appliquès, beading, and embroidery are designed to incorporate complementary themes.

A feminine shape that is flawlessly flattering is essential to the design of each dress. It is the outline of the entire garment – the most obvious visual element of the garment. Artfully created with line and manipulation of volume, it creates the initial impact before any other details are noticed. The signature silhouette of an Ellen Wise wedding dress or evening gown begins with the design and construction of a perfectly finessed internal custom corset that molds the contours of the client’s torso. Luxurious fabrics are crafted and manipulated so that they hang immaculately over the inner bustier, gliding effortlessly with a bride as she moves; the bustier is cut to the exact centimeter to define the waist and enhance curves in the most precise and refined way.
Classic draped designs and slim, body-sculpting skirts allow details to shine, from buttons and beading that cascades like rain to shimmering pearls and delicate flower petals, sewn by hand onto tulle with great skill, care, and passion.
